Copley Primary School

From July 2015, the government made it mandatory for schools to protect children against radicalisation and extremism. The government initiative, known as the 'prevent duty' means school have a duty of care to not only protect children against radicalisation and extremism, but also, identify children in their care who may be vulnerable to this and know how to act when they are identified.

All staff at Copley receive training regularly on Prevent. This is a government provided programme that each member of staff complete. In addition to this, we promote positive attitudes and resilience to radicalisation through the teaching of our British Values.
